Above is a large Catholic church in downtown Santiago. Nearly 80% of the Chilean population
are Catholic. Only about 16% of the Chilean population are Evangelical Christians.
To the right is the presidential palace , again located in the downtown area.
Art and history are a large part of the Chilean culture. The sculpture above, depicts
the Mapuche people who have been fragmented into numerous small communities over years of opression.
